I was taking a walk one day, complaining to the Lord about an incident that had occurred the week before. I was going over all the details to be sure the Lord understood completely how mistreated I had been. While waiting for the Lord's tender response, I heard “Get over it!” At first, I was stunned; then I realized He was serious. “Get over it?” I questioned. Pleading my case, I reminded the Lord of the details. Again, I heard “Get over it!” This was followed with “….love keeps no records of wrongs.” 1 Corinthians 13:5 NIV
Although in my imperfect body, I don’t always love the way God intended me to love, I am reminded that Love lives on the inside of me. It's not about my ability to love like God but it is about depending on His ability to love through me. You’re right if you are thinking “I can’t live like that.” When we focus on God who is LOVE, and trust that He will increase and I will decrease, we will find ourselves in situations where we say, “Oh, that was no big deal, I am sure they are just having a bad day.” 1 Corinthians 13:7 in the Amplified Bible says, “Love….is ever ready to believe the best of every person.”
Let’s allow God to love hurting people through us; after all, we are the body of Christ!
